Beautiful holiday decorations all around the city are cheering up the spirits of tourists and locals.
The spirit of Christmas time in London is an experience that you should not miss. I want to highlight some of the magical places I visited and really enjoyed when I last went in December 2017.
I had the privilege to be in London during Christmas time and seeing the city in all its splendor. Everyone excitedly bustling about, running errands and buying gifts for their loved ones. The city brings forth a liveliness that is synonymous only with that time of year. But be that as it may, there still remain a wave of tourists exploring the city, taking photos of and with the extravagant lights and decorations in the streets, whilst riding the tube to and from their destinations.
Many also frequent the ice skating rinks during Christmas time in London in a few places like Canary Wharf and Queens; very fitting for fun in the winter season. In addition, Oxford and Regent street are always great for shopping, even though they are some of the busiest streets there. And Soho never disappoints either. It has a wide variety of shops and little restaurants you can check out, and the ambient enhances the experience that much more.
During my visit, I got the chance to go see a dance show of “Cinderella” by Matthew Bourne at the Sadler’s Wells—my favorite theater. But there is a surplus of other shows and performances to be seen. And of course, I’d ride the tube back to wherever I was staying.
I love London in general but visiting around the Holidays is a very heartwarming experience, and can’t wait to visit again.
Remember to book accommodation early. London is a very popular destination almost year round, so sometimes it might be challenging to find a place and pricey too.
