The impulse or perhaps, the instinct for survival and staying safe is proved to be in our DNA! Whether you put the metal spikes on your shoes to avoid slipping on an icy trail or put on a jacket when its minus 4 celsius outside, being a safe traveler is embedded in us.
And, precisely because of that we are generally quite safe in everyday life. However, once taken out of our environment and hit the road, things are starting to change.
I still remember my first visit to Vietnam. My very first meal on the streets of Saigon was, to say the least delicious. Later that day, I found out that my stomach had not found it that delicious. Okay, I'm not going to lie, it was nasty, but 3 days later I was back to normal and able to enjoy the rich culture of Vietnam again.
Bottom line, it will take some extra caution when on the road, but once you've got the hang of it, it's pretty easy!
